Welcome to the Brown Bag!
The Brown Bag first opened its doors in 1987 with the goal of providing the public with fresh, nutritious food and baked goods of the highest quality at a reasonable price and served in an informal and friendly atmosphere. During it’s twenty-two years in business, it has grown become a Rockland landmark and a favorite Breakfast / Lunch spot for many with it’s unique atmosphere and wholesome food offerings.
My wife, Tina and I purchased the restaurant in December 2007 and have continued to carry on this Brown Bag tradition with a few additional enhancements that we hope will increase enjoyment of your overall dining experience. We operate an 80+ seat Restaurant and full-service Bakery from two storefronts at 606 & 608 Main Street in Rockland. The Restaurant & Bakery can be accessed from either storefront with the Restaurant hours from 7:00 AM to 2:30 PM & the Bakery hours from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM for your convenience. You can order-in to enjoy a relaxing meal in our restaurant or call ahead for take-out to accommodate your busy schedule.
We bake all of our own breads daily in our Bakery for use in the restaurant and we roast several fresh turkeys in our kitchen every day. We offer our famous Haddock chowder daily as well as other delightful and delicious homemade soups and sandwiches. Try the “Gobbler”, our signature fresh-roasted turkey sandwich with stuffing, cranberry sauce, Lettuce & Mayo, a local favorite. Our Crab Salad and Crab Melt sandwiches can’t be beat!
After breakfast or lunch, be sure to come into the Bakery and check out our fresh baked breads, tempting desserts including our award winning chocolate chip cookies and the world’s finest peanut butter balls.
We deliver sandwiches, entrees, salads, drinks & desserts to local businesses for meetings and other functions as well as to individuals for both breakfast & lunch for a minimal local charge. This is a popular service so be sure to get your orders in as early as possible to ensure on time service and delivery!
We also offer Holiday Fare for our customers to take home and enjoy. Offerings include Turkeys or Turkey Pies, delicious side dishes such as our savory stuffing, vegetables and gravy or scrumptious baked goods such as breads, rolls, pies & cakes. During the holiday seasons , order brochures are available to pick up at the Restaurant for our customers to fill out with their favorite food selections. Please place your orders early to ensure availability of your favorite foods.
Catering services are available for all manner of functions including Business holiday parties to reward employees for a job well done, Weddings, Funeral Services or private parties. Please call ahead to schedule an appointment with one of our friendly catering staff.
We have a wonderful group of personnel at our establishment that is focused on customer service and satisfaction so please inform us of your needs and desires and we will do our best to please you.
